Brick Bay Sculpture Walk

Walk around the extensive sculpture garden. The track takes you around one side of the lake, up towards a section of vineyards, through regenerating native forest, with a side trip into a section of kauri regrowth, across a paddock, and then back down the other side of the lake.

Leigh Village & Harbour

Leigh is a small coastal village with a population of around 450 that includes farmers, divers, marine scientists, retired folks and fishermen, making it an interesting community. The population doubles in the summer months as holiday homes and accommodation fill up.

Harbour Bridge

Standing sentinel across the Waitemata Harbour, the Auckland Harbour Bridge is a crucial piece of infrastructure. It connects the metropolis of the central business district to the North Shore and beyond to Northland.

Mathesons Bay

Matheson Bay Reserve has a popular beach for locals with plenty of open space for picnics and recreation with a popular bush walking track on the western side of the Kohuroa stream.

Orewa Beach

Just half an hour north of Auckland’s harbour bridge, the town of Ōrewa spreads inland from the edge of a magnificent three kilometre beach. It’s a great destination if you like swimming, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing and kite surfing.

Pakiri Hill

A short section of just over a kilometre following the route of the old Pakiri Road. A view from nearly 1000 feet (290m) above Te Rere Bay – just north of Goat Island over the extents of the Hauraki Gulf. This very site has an international historical significance.

Sandspit Harbour

In the heart of the Matakana vineyard region with bush walks and beaches all around, the protected harbour is a great jumping off point for trips out to Kawau Island, the Hauraki Gulf, Gt Barrier Island and for those heading north.

Takapuna Beach

A vibrant beachside destination with a city rhythm only 10 mins from Auckland’s CBD, Takapuna encompasses the best of everything – a relaxed beach atmosphere, designer shopping, a thriving hospitality scene with a huge variety of cafés, restaurants and bars with simply stunning views out across a white sand beach to the Hauraki Gulf and iconic Rangitoto Island.

Warkworth

Warkworth acts as a gateway to the stunning beach and wine areas to the east. Goat Island, Tāwharanui and Matakana are all within easy reach from here. Poised at the edge of the Mahurangi River, Warkworth is a pretty town with an interesting choice of restaurants and accommodation.
